About Us

Our Story

Active Therapy Solutions was established in December 1998 as the first clinic in Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge to offer Manual Practice Osteopathy services. Since the opening of Active Therapy Solutions, we have had the privilege to treat a wide range of conditions and individuals. Infants to elderly, weekend warriors to elite athletes. Assessing and treating all with the common goal of finding the cause of dysfunction and restoring proper balanced mobility to the tissues or systems of the body.

Michelle Petrescu

Osteopathic Mannual Practitioner

Michelle is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and a graduate from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy (CAO) in Hamilton, with a Masters of Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences (M.OMSc).

Prior to studying Classical Osteopathy, I graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with Honours BSc Health Science and minors in Chemistry, Biology, and Psychology. During my time at Laurier, I developed a passion for human anatomy, physiology and the  improvement in human health and well-being. Osteopathy has allowed me to continue this journey and focus on a holistic, hands-on approach in healthcare.

The CAO has a principles-based osteopathic education program. This intensive four-year program included in-depth academic study of functional anatomy, physiology, osteopathic principles and techniques, with 4200+ hours of clinical, hands-on practice.

As an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, I am dedicated to enhancing my patient's well-being, optimizing their mobility, and promoting increased longevity and vitality by improving the interrelationship between the structure and function of the body while addressing the root causes of health issues, not just the symptoms.

My services are covered through all major insurance providers and I am a member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association (OOA/OSTCAN).
